Just a few weeks ago, August 12th, we celebrated Mother’s Day in Thailand with special singing, dancing, and short messages reminding us of the dedication and love of our mothers. Around 70 people attended the event in our yard which included a meal and special activities.
All those who attended received a small gift (a journal) and Christian literature explaining the love of mothers and the love of God the Father available for each of us to receive. Many families that normally do not attend our church actually came to the special event to see their child perform on the stage. Even though it rained, we were still prepared with outdoor tents, umbrellas, and plastic for electrical devices during the show. Everyone seemed to have a good time eating together and watching the children perform for their parents.
We couldn’t have pulled this off without our wonderful Thai Christian staff that worked very hard to make this happen. We’re praying that the people that attended will open their hearts to Jesus and His love for them. Some of them have already started becoming more involved in the church. Praise God!
